A hacker group reports infiltrating facial recognition software

The hacker group GhostSec reported that they have hacked an Iranian software that violates privacy and is used for surveillance and monitoring, featuring capabilities like facial recognition and motion sensors, and have accessed its data.

This hacker group, on their Telegram channel launched on the fifth of Shahrivar, which also features the slogan ‘Woman, Life, Freedom,’ announced the name of the software as Fanap Behnama and stated that it belongs to the company Fanap.

According to what Fanap officially announced in 2016, this company, in collaboration with another company named Behpooyesh, introduced a video surveillance and image processing software called Behnama at an exhibition on the sidelines of the fourth cyber defense conference.

GhostSec claims to have obtained 20 gigabytes of data from this software, which includes the source codes related to facial recognition systems and motion sensors.
