A delegation from Hamas will soon head to Egypt to continue negotiations on the ceasefire in Gaza.
The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas announced in a statement on Thursday that a delegation of members from this Palestinian Islamist group will soon travel to Egypt for further talks regarding the ceasefire in the Gaza conflict.
The statement mentioned that Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas, in a phone call with Abbas Kamel, the head of Egypt’s intelligence service, referred to the review of the ceasefire proposal by the group’s members with a positive attitude.
Hamas announced on Saturday that it had received a reciprocal proposal from Israel and would review it before providing a response.
The Cairo News network, affiliated with the Egyptian government, quoted a high-ranking anonymous source in the country stating that the Hamas delegation will arrive in Cairo within the next two days.
The Hamas statement mentioned that the upcoming negotiations aim to reach an agreement that fulfills our people’s demands and puts an end to the aggressions.
