Message of Gratitude from Elahe Mohammadi and Niloofar Hamedi from Prison

Journalists Niloofar Hamedi and Elahe Mohammadi, along with women’s and children’s rights activist Samaneh Asghari, who are imprisoned following the ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’ uprising, have expressed their gratitude for public support in a joint message.

In their message, alongside wishing for brighter days, they said, ‘We have spent six months; we are on this side of the high prison walls, and you, dear ones, are on the other side. Yet, the sprouts of your fingertips kept hope alive in our hearts, and the warmth of your hearts gave strength to our knees to carry on.’

Niloofar Hamedi and Elahe Mohammadi, journalists from Shargh and Ham-Mihan, took photos and reported on Mahsa Amini in the hospital and later at her funeral in Saqqez. After six months, they remain in detention without resolution.

Samaneh Asghari, a 22-year-old student at Kharazmi University, was also arrested during the nationwide protests and has been in prison for six months now.
