A Part of Kajur Forest in Nowshahr Caught Fire

A part of the Kajour forest in Nowshahr caught fire.

The head of the Kajour Nowshahr Natural Resources and Watershed Management Department reported a fire incident in the Sekaldareh forest area near the village of Kinj, within this region.

Mohsen Pour Davoodi added that this incident was reported by the villagers about an hour ago at 3:30 PM, and immediately, natural resources officers were dispatched to the fire-stricken area and are busy extinguishing the fire.

He stated that the type of fire was superficial and its cause is most likely related to nature tourists, livestock herders, or hunters, which is under investigation.

The head of the Kajour Nowshahr Natural Resources expressed hope that with the presence of nature-loving people and villagers around this forest area, and the efforts of the forest rangers, this fire will be extinguished soon.

The Kajour Nowshahr Natural Resources and Watershed Management covers about 80,000 hectares of forest and rangeland.

The Kajour region, with a population of at least 12,000 people, consists of 64 villages and two towns, located approximately 75 kilometers southeast of Nowshahr.
