A Serious Step by the U.S. to Resolve the Caucasus Crisis
Following Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Armenia and her firm stance against Azerbaijan’s aggression towards that country, which involved a clear condemnation of Azerbaijan and support for Armenia, the U.S. State Department has taken steps to play a role in this crisis.
Antony Blinken, the U.S. Secretary of State, brought his Azerbaijani and Armenian counterparts to the negotiating table and began efforts to facilitate dialogue between the two sides with the U.S. at the center. Naturally, Blinken’s tone and stance were different from Nancy Pelosi’s approach, and there is an attempt to maintain balance in the U.S. State Department’s positions between the two sides.
