A Syrian Parliament Member Owes $30 Billion to Iran

A member of the Syrian parliament owes $30 billion to Iran.

The former head of the National Security Commission of the Parliament says that Syria owes $30 billion to Iran, and I hope this debt is settled during Ebrahim Raisi’s visit to Damascus on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, May 2nd, Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh told Tejarat News that Russia has collected its dues from Syria, but Iran has not.

According to him, the Syrian government is failing to repay the expenses that Iran has incurred in this country. Iran has borne significant military and political costs in Syria and Iraq, but after these countries achieve relative calm, Iran’s economic goals are not fulfilled.
