A teenager in western Canada killed two police officers

Two Canadian police officers were shot and killed by a 16-year-old teenager after responding to an emergency call at an apartment in Edmonton, Alberta.

The teenager’s mother had called the police around 1 a.m. because she was worried about her child, and a serious conflict had erupted between the mother and son.

She, who is 55 years old, was severely injured in the shooting but survived.

According to Edmonton police, the teenager, whose identity has not been released, then turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.

Dale McFee, the Edmonton police chief, said that the two police officers were dispatched around 12:47 a.m. on Thursday after receiving a call about a family dispute, and they spoke with the teenager’s mother outside the building before entering the apartment.

Minutes later, they went to the apartment and were wounded by several bullets fired at them as soon as they encountered the teenager.
