Abbas Araqchi: The killing of Larijani has no impact on the structure of the regime

Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, reacted to the killing of Ali Larijani by saying that the Islamic Republic has a powerful political structure, and the presence or absence of an individual does not affect this structure.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, he added that we have never had anyone more important than the leader, and even when the leader was killed, the regime continued its work, and a replacement was immediately appointed.

Araqchi also spoke about the possibility of being targeted himself, saying that even if the Foreign Minister is killed one day, ultimately someone else will take his place.

The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister further commented on the attacks on certain areas in the southern Gulf countries, saying that Iran has not limited itself to official bases and has targeted wherever there have been gatherings of American forces or facilities belonging to them. He added that some of these locations might be near urban areas, but this is not our fault; it is America’s fault.
