Abbas Araqchi’s Reaction to the Actions of the European Union

Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, in response to the European Union’s action of placing the name of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on the list of terrorist groups, said that Europe has committed another major strategic mistake by listing our armed forces as so-called terrorist organizations.

He added that currently, several countries are trying to prevent the outbreak of a full-scale war in our region, and it is interesting that none of these countries are European, while Europe is busy fanning the flames of crisis.

Araqchi described the European Union’s stance on Iran’s events as selective and blatant hypocrisy, stating that while they take no action against Israel’s genocide in Gaza, they hastily claim to defend human rights in Iran. This publicity stunt is primarily an attempt to conceal the stark decline in Europe’s role and status.

Previously, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) had also considered this action by the European Union as hasty and contrary to the legal procedures within the European Union, merely an action based on political pretexts.
