Abbasi, Member of Parliament: Air Pollution Stems from Diesel Used by Power Plants

Abbasi, a member of parliament, says air pollution is caused by the diesel fuel used in power plants.

Alireza Abbasi, a member of the Parliament’s Agriculture Commission, said, ‘I want to point out that the diesel fuel currently being used in power plants is not very standard either. We might even say it’s equivalent to fuel oil, and sometimes its sulfur content is several times higher than the standard limit.’

Therefore, what they say about not burning fuel oil might actually be true, but the diesel or fuel being used now does not meet the necessary standards and essentially acts like fuel oil.
