Abolfazl Shekarchi, the senior spokesperson of Iran’s Armed Forces: We will not back down against the hypocrites and will create another Mersad.
Abolfazl Shekarchi, the senior spokesperson of Iran’s Armed Forces, said today in Farahan regarding the ongoing protests in the country: Every inch of the lands of Kurdistan, Sistan, and Baluchestan is stained with the blood of this country’s martyrs. We will not back down against the hypocrites and will create another Mersad, and we will stand for this land to the last breath.
The officials of the Islamic Republic refer to the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran as the hypocrites. Operation Mersad is a historical reference to the Islamic Republic’s response to the Forough Javidan operation by this organization in the final weeks of the war.
Mr. Shekarchi, comparing the situation of Iran before and after the 1979 revolution, said: From a humiliated Iran during the Pahlavi regime and other tyrannical governments, we built a strong Iran and became a powerful Iran. The fear of a strong Iran has caused enemies to use all the tools of the world against us.
He described the protesters in the streets as deceived and said that the nation is wise, patient, and present.
In the third month of protests in Iran, today Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, in a meeting with Basij members, asked them not to weaken and to maintain their morale.
