Abolfazl Shekarchi, the senior spokesperson of Iran’s armed forces: We will not back down against the hypocrites and will create another Mersad.
Abolfazl Shekarchi, the senior spokesperson of Iran’s armed forces, said today in Farahan regarding the ongoing protests in the country: Every inch of the land of Kurdistan, Sistan, and Baluchestan is soaked with the blood of this country’s martyrs. We will not back down against the hypocrites and will create another Mersad, and we will stand for this land and soil to the last breath.
Officials of the Islamic Republic refer to the People’s Mojahedin Organization as the hypocrites. The Mersad operation is a historical reference to the Islamic Republic’s response to the Eternal Light operation by this organization in the final weeks of the war.
Mr. Shekarchi, comparing the situation of Iran before and after the 1979 revolution, said: From a humiliated Iran during the Pahlavi regime and other tyrannical governments, we built a strong Iran and became a powerful Iran. The fear of a strong Iran has led enemies to use all the world’s tools against us.
He called the protesters in the streets deceived and said that the nation is wise, patient, and present on the scene.
In the third month of protests in Iran, Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, in a meeting with Basij forces, urged them not to weaken and to maintain their morale.
