Abolfazl Zandi became the world champion in Taekwondo

Iranian Taekwondo athlete Abolfazl Zandi won the gold medal in the minus 58 kg category at the World Championships in Wuxi, China, becoming the world champion.

This is the first gold medal for Iranian men’s Taekwondo in the last 10 years.

Mr. Zandi defeated a competitor from Kosovo in the first round and later overcame an Italian rival.

In the semi-finals, he defeated a Chinese competitor in two rounds and ultimately won the final match against Georgi Gortsev from Russia, who was competing under a neutral flag, with a score of 2-0 to become the champion.
