Reports of Sexual Harassment of Students at the School of Foreign Languages

The Student Councils of the Country reported today, Monday, January 2, 2023, in a detailed report about verbal and physical sexual harassment of students at the School of Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Tehran by some security personnel of this school.

Some students of this school have recounted incidents of this harassment, which they encountered when commuting to the school, with detailed descriptions.

In most accounts, it is mentioned that the security personnel address students with specific attire using obscene language and ask them to state whether they are a girl or a boy.

One of the students narrating these accounts wrote that when she went to the university last week wearing a long skirt, one of the security officers stationed there, who hadn’t been there before, told her to take off that one piece so everyone could enjoy.

In their report, these students have strongly condemned these sadistic and malicious behaviors of the security and the incompetence of the school’s administration in ensuring physical and psychological safety.
