Advisor to Iran’s Minister of Energy: We have an annual water consumption of 100 billion cubic meters

The advisor to Iran’s Minister of Energy has stated that in Iran, we have an annual water consumption of 100 billion cubic meters, with approximately 90% used in agriculture, 6% in drinking, and the rest in industry.

Ali Akbar Kazemi, advisor to the Minister of Energy, has said that to conserve water, dam construction, recycling, and other measures must be undertaken, and this necessity should be made clear to the public.

Meanwhile, many observers criticize the dam construction process in Iran and consider it one of the reasons for the drying up of lakes and wetlands in the country.

Furthermore, in many developed countries around the world, dam construction is recognized as a destructive factor in environmental changes and the destruction of plants, animals, and historical sites, and its construction is prevented.
