Afghan women: Men do not support us

Following the new Taliban decree banning girls from continuing their education in universities, there was an outcry from all quarters. From the United Nations and the European Union to Muslim and non-Muslim countries, all unanimously condemned the Taliban government’s order.

At the same time, small groups of women in several provinces of Afghanistan held gatherings to protest this new Taliban order, which were met with violence and suppression by the Taliban.

Some women say that male students were supposed to participate in these protests, but no men showed up.

Some of these women said that in many parts of Afghanistan, nothing stirred, and no one raised their voice in support of Afghan women.
