Ahmad Vahidi, Minister of Interior: The team for Molavi Rigi's assassination received orders from abroad

Ahmad Vahidi, the Minister of Interior, stated that the team behind the assassination of Moulavi Rigi received their operational orders from abroad.

According to ISNA news agency, Ahmad Vahidi, the Minister of Interior, told the agency that the team responsible for the assassination of Moulavi Abdolvahed Rigi received their operational orders from outside the country. He did not specify who the commanders were or which country they were from.

Moulavi Abdolvahed Rigi was the Friday prayer leader of one of the Sunni mosques in Khash, who was kidnapped on December 8th this year and subsequently murdered.

After this murder, government officials stated that the terrorist team responsible for this killing, who intended to leave the country, had been arrested.

Ahmad Vahidi mentioned that the aim of this assassination team was to create religious and ethnic discord in the region. He added that Moulavi Rigi was a patriotic, revolutionary cleric who opposed enemies, and for this reason, he was targeted.

According to the Minister of Interior, this martyrdom demonstrated the deep bond between Sunnis and Shias and the strong connection between the people of Sistan and Baluchistan, proving how significant the role of Baluchis is in border protection.
