Ahmadinejad's Harsh Encounter with Gol Agha as Told by a Satirist

Ahmadinejad’s Harsh Reaction to Gol Agha as Narrated by a Satirist

Ismail Amini, a poet and satirist, in a video interview, recounted an incident involving Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the satirical magazine Gol Agha.

He said that during the time when Dr. Habibi was the Vice President, due to his interest in caricatures, he even rewarded those who drew humorous images of him.

However, with the arrival of the new government, the situation changed.

According to Amini, at the book fair, one of the members of Gol Agha’s editorial team framed a caricature of Ahmadinejad and presented it to him as a gift.

The then-President, after seeing the picture, frowned at it and immediately ordered the cancellation of Gol Agha magazine’s paper quota.
