Ahmadreza Radan announced the shooting of six notorious extortionists in Tehran
The head of Iran’s police force announced on a Sunday night television interview that six notorious extortionists in Tehran, who were threatening to evict residents from their homes, had been shot.
Ahmadreza Radan explained that in one of Tehran’s neighborhoods, six thugs who were threatening people were shot and apprehended by police officers, with one of these thugs likely having been killed.
According to him, these extortionists claimed to have bought part of the residents’ homes and intended to evict them by throwing grenades.
Mr. Radan emphasized that the shooting at these individuals was carried out with legal authorization.
He warned that this is a message for the thugs: if you want to test us, go meet these six individuals.
Despite Mr. Radan’s claims of serious action against extortionists, official statistics indicate a significant increase in theft and extortion in Iran.
