Ahvaz University of Medical Sciences: Dust storms in Khuzestan sent 800 people to medical centers

The deputy of treatment at Jundishapur Ahvaz University of Medical Sciences announced that the dust storm, which engulfed Khuzestan from Monday night, sent 800 patients with cardiac and respiratory issues to hospitals and medical centers.

Dr. Meysam Moazzi stated that out of these patients, spanning all age groups, 20 were hospitalized while the rest were discharged in better general condition.

He requested all residents of the province, especially high-risk groups such as children, pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory diseases, to stay indoors as much as possible during polluted days.

According to this report, the Khuzestan Meteorological Department has issued a red-level warning for the entry of a dust mass originating from Iraq and Saudi Arabia from late Monday to Tuesday.

The Air Pollution Emergency Committee announced that due to the dust storm, all government offices will work remotely, and educational centers in Khuzestan will operate non-presentially on Tuesday.
