Ahvaz Power Plant CEO Confirms Use of Mazut

The CEO of Ahvaz Power Plant confirmed the burning of mazut

The CEO of Ramin Ahvaz Power Plant also confirmed the burning of mazut at this power plant

According to the report by IRIB News Agency, Mohsen Hafezi, the CEO of Ramin Ahvaz Power Plant, announced on Friday, January 5th, that the reason for using mazut fuel in one of the production units of this power plant was a resolution by the Supreme National Security Council

According to Mr. Hafezi, the reason for this resolution is the necessity of supplying the gas needed by the people in the cold regions of the country due to cold weather and gas pressure drop, and the use of mazut fuel in Ramin Power Plant was carried out after coordination with the governorship, county government, and the Department of Environment

In recent weeks, officials in Iran have reported one by one about the burning of mazut in several power plants across the country

This is while relevant officials in the Islamic Republic, including the head of the Department of Environment, have denied the burning of mazut in major cities over the past two months and have attributed air pollution to the number of vehicles and air inversion during the cold season
