Air Force Commander: Attack on Iran Was Equivalent to Hiroshima

Jason Armagost, commander of the U.S. Air Force’s bomber operations during the attack on the nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic in the 12-day war, revealed in an interview with Fox News that after President Donald Trump of the United States set a 60-day deadline for resolving Iran’s nuclear program, American bombers were immediately prepared to execute the attack.

The commander of the Eighth Air Force of the U.S. Army announced that the June attack by stealth B-2 bombers on the nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic was carried out to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons and to restore deterrence, and it had a decisive outcome.

According to Armagost, this operation, named Midnight Hammer, was conducted over a 30-hour journey, had a decisive outcome, and just 30 hours later led to a ceasefire between Israel and the Islamic Republic.

He described this attack as strategically equivalent to the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Armagost added that the U.S. Air Force is in the process of replacing the B-2 bombers with the new generation B-21 to maintain its deterrence capability.
