According to an official report, by the end of October this year, out of a total of 136 licensed petrochemical projects with a production capacity of 113 million tons, 31 projects are in the preliminary stage and their execution has not yet begun.
In addition, the execution of 35 other petrochemical projects is either halted or inactive.
The lack of financial resources, issues with obtaining licenses and technology, unclear status of feedstock and utility supply, and shareholder disputes are the main reasons for the halting or inactivity, and even delays in the commencement of new petrochemical projects. It remains to be seen whether Hassan Abbaszadeh, a CEO with a complete background in petrochemicals, will succeed in making effective changes in this construction process during the fourteenth government or not.
