Ali Daei criticized the state of Iran’s automotive industry on the sidelines of the opening of the International Auto Show, saying that the gap between this industry and the world’s leading car manufacturers is very large. He also responded to a question about the existence of a mafia in the automotive industry by saying, ‘Is there any part of society that doesn’t have a mafia, that the automotive industry and football wouldn’t have one?’ Daei emphasized the necessity of progress and competition with global car manufacturers, stating that Iran’s automotive industry has a long way to go to reach the world’s current standards.
