Ali Larijani sometimes says it’s good that Haj Qasem is gone
A member of the Expediency Discernment Council in the meetings we had, Haj Qasem would say that you can’t run the country with such thinking; you can’t solve problems by creating conflicts.
Sometimes an important international issue was raised, and they would add two or three other side issues to it, saying why are they making our work difficult? He would say you should facilitate our work.
He wouldn’t take a public stance, he would pass by them. If someone has a major task, they shouldn’t get involved in these minor issues; he would be distressed.
When internally, over trivial things, they take disagreements to the point where it creates rifts, Haj Qasem would suffer.
When gaps and conflicts aren’t resolved, they turn into resentment and violence, resulting in factions in society that pursue conflict instead of the country’s development, completely harming national interests.
Some countries in the region have been suffering from internal conflicts for years; they have money, but it is spent on other things.
We must understand not to act this way.
A dynamic society is one that has diversity.
Martyr Motahari in one of his works mentions a very instructive point. He says, look at why the history of Islamic civilization, which became a paragon, came into being. Islamic civilization was top-notch. He says the reason for its progress was that various societies accepted to be under this framework, and also the tolerance of Islamic rulers. Everyone thought they could have a life like Muslims within this framework. You accept diversity, but you also accept the framework of Islamic governance. If you set aside either, you won’t reach Islamic civilization.
In internal events, I feel regret when I hear some words and say God loved Haj Qasem that he left.
Some words are really painful. Ayatollah Khamenei has fought against dictatorship for 60 years, before and after the revolution.
I saw that he would stop dictatorial behaviors. The Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist is for this purpose, but some understand it differently, and that is painful.
In this country, we are all in the same boat; let’s not sink it with our words. If the boat is punctured, we all face a crisis.
Haj Qasem thought a lot about the health of the ship of the revolution.
