I sit sadly and closely follow the events of the last forty days in Iran. I think, alas, the signs that social science thinkers presented were not understood by the authorities and policymakers, and even those who expressed the realities facing society were treated with disregard.
I still believe, based on what I have written, that institutionalized poverty, which affected many social classes and led to the downfall of the middle class, and generations whose desires, needs, and lifestyles were full of unknown mysteries, were not recognized. Women who have been trying for years to be seen and break barriers were not understood. Policies that were promoted relentlessly without considering these changes continued in a different realm. Sanction-breaking efforts that could have opened new horizons were blocked due to the pretexts of minor political achievements, spreading widespread despair. In the year 1400, the closure of the channels that could have been consoling for generational changes altogether created a ground for the cries from unheard voices to rise.
