Ali Bahadori, the government spokesperson, said we could have easily authorized the use of live ammunition against protesters.
Ali Bahadori, the spokesperson for the Islamic Republic’s government, stated in a gathering with students at the IRIB University that from the very first day of the protests, the government could have allowed law enforcement to use live bullets and shoot anyone who came to the streets, making people afraid to leave their homes. However, this government would never do such a thing because it considers the protesters as its own children and family.
He also mentioned that a lot of investment has been made in these individuals to resolve the country’s problems.
These statements come as the Iran Human Rights organization has announced that as of November 5th, at least 304 people, including 41 children and 24 women, have been killed in the ongoing protests.
According to this report, it is stated that 41 of the deceased were under the age of 18.
