Amazon Company: Drone Attack on Data Center in Bahrain Caused Disruption

The internet company Amazon reported a disruption at one of its cloud service data centers in Bahrain, stating that the disruption occurred following a drone attack.

A spokesperson for the company confirmed this to Reuters on Tuesday, March 24, but did not provide further details about the extent of the damage or the duration of the disruption.

Amazon also announced that it is assisting in relocating customers to alternative regions.

The company’s cloud services play an important role in the operations of many websites and government online services, and Bahrain has been investing in creating a cloud region to become an IT hub in the Persian Gulf.

This is the second time since the start of the US and Israel’s war against Iran that data centers in Bahrain have been targeted by a drone attack.
