American atomic energy is linked to artificial intelligence
The massive data centers supporting the rapidly expanding activities of tech companies in the AI field require high energy, and for several months, major American tech companies have been searching for various sources to supply energy to these massive data centers.
Apart from innovative ideas to supply the needed energy from clean sources, atomic electricity has been one of the most important solutions for these companies. A few months ago, Amazon signed a contract to purchase a data center directly connected to a neighboring nuclear power plant, which drew complaints from American electricity suppliers, yet this trend continues.
In recent months, Microsoft has hired nuclear energy experts. The value of shares of atomic electricity-producing companies has been increasing, and they have experienced one of the highest price increases in the past year. Companies like Constellation and its counterparts in America enthusiastically support the growing trend of directly connecting data centers to nuclear power plants, and this trend will not stop.
Equipping operating power plants, renovating and reopening retired plants, and building new plants are three strategies available to them, each requiring different time and cost. The recent event of equipping and reopening an out-of-service plant in Georgia is now understood to be significant.
