Amir Mahdipour, Attorney at Law, Sentenced to One Year in Prison

Amir Mahdipour, an attorney, was sentenced to one year in prison.

The human rights news agency, Hrana, has reported that Amir Mahdipour, a lawyer and member of the East Azerbaijan Bar Association, has been sentenced to one year in prison, two years of travel ban, and other social restrictions.

He was arrested in October in connection with nationwide protests by security forces in Tabriz and was sent to the city’s prison.

Mahdipour was released temporarily on bail until the end of the judicial proceedings.

Hrana writes that, so far, there is no information available on the charges brought against this lawyer.
