A group of analysts from a defense research institute in the UK state that since the invasion of Ukraine, Russian security services have achieved significantly more success compared to the country’s military.
The FSB, or the Russian counterintelligence service, has been able to quickly gain control over captured areas due to meticulous planning.
Researchers say groups of officers from the Russian counterintelligence service locate related individuals by obtaining government records. They have also arrested and interrogated many through house-to-house searches. Meanwhile, according to British experts’ estimates, Russian electronic warfare units almost completely cut off access to television, radio, and the internet to gain control.
