Kayhan newspaper’s anger at the national players’ solidarity with the people
Kayhan newspaper, affiliated with the Leader of the Islamic Republic, harshly criticized the Iranian men’s national football team players in its main headline, stating that those who did not sing the Islamic Republic’s national anthem are dishonorable.
Kayhan also wrote in its main headline that the reason for Iran’s defeat was an unprecedented and unfair psychological media warfare against the team.
In this article, Kayhan wrote that this media-political movement, mainly based in London, with the cooperation and coordination of domestic traitors, ranging from cinema and sports celebrities to chain media and Telegram channels, and even political figures claiming to be reformists, have joined forces to attack the players and the head coach of the national team, ensuring the destruction of the morale of the technical staff and players of Iran’s national team for their opponents and, in fact, their employers.
Yesterday, Iran’s national football team began the World Cup with a heavy defeat, conceding six goals to England’s national football team, experiencing their heaviest defeat in World Cup history.
