According to this report, nearly 80 species of vertebrates in Iran are listed on the international Red List of threatened species.
The Rokna news agency also published this report, highlighting the lack of a structured and practical plan for wildlife conservation and stating that no signs of improvement are observed in the country.
Farshid Saei, an environmental expert and activist, also referred to the IUCN report, stating that in the latest statistics from this international organization, the number of threatened species in Iran is 75 vertebrate species, including 18 mammals, 29 birds, 4 amphibians, and 16 reptiles, all registered on the IUCN Red List.
