The Times of Israel reported that during the operation to discover this tunnel, several Palestinian militants were killed in clashes with Israeli forces.

The Israeli army announced that this tunnel, which is over one kilometer long, was part of a strategic underground network used by senior Hamas officials for hiding and combat, and it is equipped with facilities such as water and electricity.
