Mehdi Zare Ashkezari, a young man who was arrested during the nationwide protests in Iran, has died as a result of injuries sustained from torture.

According to reports published on social media, Mehdi Zare went into a coma due to torture hours after his temporary release and passed away in the hospital 20 days later.

It is said that this young man from Yazd suffered facial injuries, with his nose and teeth broken.

Mehdi Zare Ashkezari was an Iranian student studying in Italy, and the news of his death has been covered by the media in that country.
