Another wave of criticism towards Tehran Municipality following construction at Fakhr-od-Dowleh Mansion

Simultaneously with the release of photos showing construction at Fakhr-od-Dowleh Mansion in Tehran, and speculations about building a mausoleum for burying the remains of those killed in the Iran-Iraq war at this location, criticism towards Tehran Municipality has intensified.

Some social media users in recent days and weeks have posted photos of a structure being built in the grounds of Fakhr-od-Dowleh Mansion in District 12 of Tehran, reporting the construction of a mausoleum for burying the dead from the Iran-Iraq war.

The Iran Watch site also confirmed this news on April 4th in a report titled ‘The Revolution’s Tank Moves to Destroy a Historical Building,’ where the term ‘Revolution’s Tank’ refers to Zakani, the mayor of Tehran.

Fakhr-od-Dowleh Mansion, belonging to the daughter of Mozaffar ad-Din Shah Qajar, was nationally registered in 2004 and was repurposed as the House of Eulogists in 2009.
