Antony Blinken says Netanyahu supports the ceasefire proposal

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, on Monday, August 20, after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, told reporters that Netanyahu assured him of his support for the US proposal to bridge the gaps in the Gaza ceasefire negotiations.

He said that in a very constructive meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu, Netanyahu confirmed that Israel accepts and supports the proposal to bridge the gaps. Now it is Hamas’s turn to do the same.

Blinken, who is scheduled to travel to Egypt and Qatar after Israel, said that Netanyahu’s government will send a delegation to Cairo to continue the negotiations.

He also mentioned that he asked the Israeli government to take action against the violence of the settlers.
