Appointment of the first female ambassador in Raisi’s administration

On the recommendation of the Foreign Minister, Masoumeh Abad was selected as Iran’s ambassador to Finland.

She is set to soon replace Forouzandeh Vadiati and take on the responsibility of the Iranian embassy in Helsinki.

Masoumeh Abad has a background of membership in the Tehran City Council.

She is the sixth female ambassador since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

Zahra Ershadi, Iran’s representative at the United Nations in New York, Marzieh Afkham, former ambassador to Malaysia, Afsaneh Nadipour, ambassador to Denmark, Forouzandeh Vadiati, ambassador to Finland, and Homeira Rigi, ambassador to Brunei, are Iran’s female ambassadors post-revolution.
