Approval of Rouhollah Nakhaei's Prison Sentence in Appeals Court

Confirmation of Rouhollah Nakhai’s prison sentence in the appeals court

Saeed Khalili, an attorney, says that the two years and seven months prison sentence for journalist Rouhollah Nakhai has been confirmed in the appeals court.

On Monday, Mr. Khalili wrote in a tweet that Mr. Rouhollah Nakhai’s unjust sentence was confirmed in Branch 36, regardless of the political and baseless nature of the charges, and while many individuals with completely similar charges and situations have been pardoned, he has been convicted. These are signs of judicial chaos, and it harms the public and destroys the judiciary’s credibility.

The Committee for Following Up on the Situation of Detainees of Iran’s Protests says that Mr. Nakhai was arrested on the first day of Mehr and was later transferred to the Greater Tehran Prison.

He was released from the Greater Tehran Prison after 117 days of temporary detention upon posting bail.
