Araghchi: Enrichment is Iran’s right and we will not relinquish it.
Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, emphasized on Friday in a message on X that the Islamic Republic has not received any written proposal from the United States, neither directly nor indirectly. He wrote that the messages we and the world receive remain confusing and contradictory.
Nevertheless, Iran’s position remains firm and clear: respect our rights and lift the sanctions, and then there will be an agreement.
He said there is no scenario in which Iran would relinquish its right to enrichment for peaceful purposes, which has been achieved with great difficulty.
We always welcome dialogue based on mutual respect and always reject any form of bullying.
Previously, Ali Shamkhani, an advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, told NBC America that the Islamic Republic commits to never build nuclear weapons, abandon highly enriched uranium, and allow international inspectors to monitor Iran’s enrichment and nuclear facilities in exchange for the complete lifting of sanctions by the United States.
Donald Trump, the President of the United States, confirmed on Friday after concluding a four-day trip to the Middle East that the United States has formally offered a proposal to the Islamic Republic for a nuclear agreement.
Reuters also reported, citing an Iranian source, that Oman has received the U.S. proposal regarding the nuclear agreement and will soon deliver it to Tehran.
