Arak Representative in the Islamic Consultative Assembly: The Businessmen of Filtering in the Country Must Be Identified

The representative of Arak in the Islamic Consultative Assembly said that filter profiteers in the country should be identified.

Mr. Asafari criticized internet filtering in Iran and stated that filtering does not solve the problem and if we filter, the money goes into the pockets of VPN sellers, who currently have staggering incomes.

This member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, at the same time, supported imposing restrictions on the internet and monitoring foreign platforms, and called for a local and domestic internet.

He also mentioned that no one has any information about the sellers of bypass software. Mr. Asafari said that he asked the Minister of Communications what oversight is conducted on VPN sellers, where their income goes, how they are funded, and what taxes they pay. In fact, it cannot be that the government filters on one hand and VPNs exist on the other.
