Araqchi and Wadephul discussed regional tensions and bilateral relations

Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, met with Johann Wadephul, Germany’s Deputy Foreign Minister, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York

Araqchi criticized the European countries’ approach towards U.S. policies and Germany’s military and political support for Israel, and called for adherence to the UN Charter and international law

He also said that Iran has conveyed its conditions for continuing diplomacy to Washington and considers the return of security to the region conditional upon the cessation of U.S. military actions and interventions. The two sides also consulted on bilateral relations and consular issues
