Araqchi: We have offered multiple proposals to preserve diplomacy
Abbas Araqchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, stated on Friday, September 25th, before the United Nations Security Council meeting for voting on the extension of the snapback mechanism, that this is a fleeting opportunity for the council to say no to confrontation and yes to cooperation, thereby providing time and space for diplomacy.
The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, referring to the submission of various proposals, added that in recent days and weeks, Iran has offered several proposals to keep the window of diplomacy open. The three European countries, while the United States has doubled down on its dictates, have refrained from taking reciprocal actions.
Abbas Araqchi further called on the members of the Security Council to prevent escalation of tensions, act responsibly, and stand on the right side of history by supporting diplomacy, justice, and international law.
Abbas Araqchi concluded by emphasizing that power should never be equated with right.
