Araqchi: The management of the Strait of Hormuz is carried out in coordination with Iran and Oman.
Abbas Araqchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, emphasized the close relations between Tehran and Muscat, stating that Iran and Oman, as the two coastal countries of the Strait of Hormuz, have the natural right to decide on how to manage this waterway.
He stated that the relations between Iran and Oman are friendly and brotherly, and that no harm has come to these relations during the recent war.
Araqchi added that the efforts of us and our friends in Oman are to ensure that any action in the Strait of Hormuz is fully in accordance with international laws, and stressed that the two countries organize the management of this strategic waterway based on a balance of international laws.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also said that Tehran’s contacts with regional countries have continued throughout the war, and communication with Saudi Arabia, especially at the level of foreign ministers, has been consistently maintained.
In another part of his remarks, he claimed that Iran possesses documents and evidence showing that Kuwait’s airspace has been repeatedly used for operations against Iran.
