Heavy Cost for Argentine Goalkeeper to Protect Championship Medal

The goalkeeper of Argentina’s national team has spent a significant amount to protect his championship medal from the 2022 World Cup.

According to Marca, Emiliano Martínez, the Albiceleste goalkeeper who was one of the main factors in the team’s victory at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, has purchased a very expensive breed of guard dog to keep his championship medal and the Golden Glove award for best goalkeeper safe.

The 35-year-old Aston Villa goalkeeper, whose controversial celebrations during the Albiceleste’s championship festivities in Qatar and Argentina sparked a major uproar and criticism, has bought a dog for £20,000. This dog, of the Belgian Malinois breed, was previously used by U.S. Navy SEALs and will protect the home where Martínez’s championship medals and family members reside.
