Both Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan have announced that they are closer to an agreement that could resolve one of the longest territorial disputes of the former Soviet Union.

Armenia and Azerbaijan have stated that they are on the verge of finalizing a significant agreement that has been anticipated for a long time, which is expected to bring peace to the South Caucasus region that has experienced decades of conflict between the two countries.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced in a press conference on Saturday, August 31, 1403, that after sufficient progress was recorded on key issues discussed in recent months of bilateral negotiations, his government officially offered Azerbaijan to sign a peace treaty.
