Army Ground Forces Commander: We reached good agreements with Russia

Brigadier General Kioumars Heydari, the commander of the Iranian Army Ground Forces, stated in Moscow that during negotiations and discussions with Colonel General Oleg Salyukov, the commander of the Russian Armed Forces Ground Forces, both sides reached good agreements.

Brigadier General Heydari mentioned that he visited the Russian Military Academy, the Military Technology Center, educational centers, the Border Monitoring Equipment Center, and the Russian Defense Equipment Production Center.

He stated that Iran and Russia are serious about strengthening their cooperation in combating terrorism, but he did not provide details about the countries’ agreements.

The commander of the Iranian Army Ground Forces said these visits could aid future cooperation between the two countries in the exchange of military knowledge and student exchanges.

Military officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran continuously travel to Russia.

In recent weeks, the deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and before that, the commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Law Enforcement Command, had visited Russia.

Ukraine and the United States claim that Iran provides its drones to Moscow for Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine.
