The head of the Army’s Ideological-Political Organization says participating in elections is as obligatory as prayer.

Mohammad Hassani stated that participating in elections is obligatory and abstaining from it is as forbidden as neglecting prayer. This is to increase soft power, better align efforts to solve the country’s problems, enhance the social capital of the system, discourage the enemy from encroaching on national interests, raise the bargaining power of officials in international forums in defense of the country’s and the Islamic community’s interests and issues, and lay the groundwork for the emergence.
