Arrest of 20 Local Agents of Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani media reported on Tuesday, April 18, that 20 local agents of the Islamic Republic’s Ministry of Intelligence have been arrested in this country.

The APA news agency, citing sources from Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, reported that these individuals, under the guise of religious activities, were tasked by Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence with promoting the Islamic Republic’s regime, spreading religious superstitions, attempting to dismantle the secular government of Baku, and trafficking drugs.

The news agency published images of the mentioned individuals with religious propaganda flags of the Islamic Republic, among whom are several clerics educated in the Qom seminary.
