Assassination attempt on Trump’s life: Explosives found in the attacker’s car and home
American media have reported that explosives have been discovered in the car and home of the 20-year-old man identified as the shooter aimed at Donald Trump.
This is the latest announced result in the investigation of the assassination attempt that targeted the life of the former U.S. President on Saturday but failed, causing minor injuries to Donald Trump.
The FBI has identified 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks as the attacker, and on Sunday, The Wall Street Journal and CNN reported that explosives were found in his car, which was parked near the location of Mr. Trump’s campaign speech.
The Associated Press also reported, citing two police officials who wished to remain anonymous, that materials necessary for making a bomb were discovered in this car and also in Thomas Matthew’s home.
The news agency further reported, quoting two law enforcement officials, that the gun used by the attacker to shoot at the Republican Party candidate in the election was purchased by his father at least six months ago.
